July Macrame Pot Holder Workshop
Friday 6th July 10-1pm
Craft your own macrame plant holder in just one session!
Learn the creative knotting technique of macrame, used traditionally for belts and wall hangings and made out of jute for retro appeal or bright cord for a more contemporary feel.
All round crafter and craft writer, Katy Bevan, will teach you all the basic knots, such as the half hitch and the square knot to make straight and twisted cords. You will be able to add beads and embellishments so that you can follow a design or come up with your own original project.
Indoor plants are back in fashion, so if you have limited shelf space, hanging holders are a wonderful addition to display your greenery. This is a fun, relaxing morning and no previous experience is necessary. All materials are supplied and working in a small group, you will have lots of individual attention.
Katy Bevan is a crafter and writes for textile and craft magazines such as Selvedge and The Knitter. She is a practical book editor and art-director and blogs as The Crafter.
