Oct Shadow Boxes in Porcelain Paperclay Workshop
Saturday 12th October, 10-4pm, £70
Join ceramic sculpture tutor and artist, Emily Joy, for a creative day, designing and making an intricate and beautiful porcelain shadow box.
Using paperclay, you will be able to roll paper-thin sheets of porcelain, which can then be embossed with texture and hand-cut shapes to tell a story, make a landscape or create an abstract pattern.
Over the course of the day you'll be shown how to roll the paperclay, you'll find out more about paperclay's amazing qualities, and then cut your own stencils and shapes to emboss the sheets. Please feel free to come with ideas and designs which Emily can help you adapt.
The boxes will be between 10 and 20cm in size. Finally the whole design will be assembled with walls to create a free-standing shadow box, ready for firing.
Once fired at Victoria Works, these shadow boxes will become translucent when lit by fairy lights, creating amazing 3D effects and a sense of depth. A lovely piece to have illuminated in the autumn and winter months ahead!
All materials are included and your piece once fired will be ready for collection a week after the workshop from Victoria Works. Please wear old clothes and covered shoes for this workshop.
We can accept other methods of payment, please get in touch if you would like to pay via bank transfer or cheque. Email: bookings@VictoriaWorksStudios.co.uk
