November Silver Leaf Pendant Workshop
Sunday 11th November, 10-4pm
Have you ever fancied trying your hand at jewellery making? Resident Silversmith and Jeweller Zoe Watts will guide you through the process of making your very own bespoke silver leaf pendant in a day. You will enjoy an insight into the creative process of chasing and repousse; an ancient technique dating back thousands of years. Specialist hammers are used to work relief, shape and decorative design into the silver which is supported on a pitch bowl.
You will be encouraged to use your creativity with forming a unique leaf shape to your own design. You will work your way through each part of the process, using hand held specialist jewellery tools to chase, saw and finish the pendant to a beautiful standard.
All materials are provided. The workshop will be fun, informal and taught at a steady pace. There will be examples of previous participants results on hand so you can see what is achievable. Zoe can help you with ideas for the design if needed. An 18 inch or 16 inch silver chain will be available to purchase directly from Zoe at an additional cost.
You will be working with tools and equipment that can be potentially hazardous if due care and attention is not taken; we therefore ask that participants be over the age of 16 years, wear suitable clothing, including covered shoes that protect feet. Long hair will need to be tied back and rings, scarfs and other loose clothing must be removed prior to the start of the workshop. If you would like to bring an apron or overall please feel free to do so. No past experience in jewellery making or metal work is nececessary.
We can accept other methods of payment, please get in touch if you would like to pay via bank transfer or cheque: bookings@VictoriaWorksStudios.co.uk
