Join artist and tutor Lichen Davenport for a fun and relaxed day of making your own sketchbooks and exploring creative ways of developing your ideas. This workshop is about experimentation and finding new ways to get ideas on paper without the pressure of perfection and have fun with mark-making and drawing within the confines of your own sketchbook.

The day will begin by learning how to make and bind your own simple sketchbook with a variety of interesting textured and plain papers using a traditional craft technique of sketchbook making. You will then use a multitude of sources to draw from including natural summer foliage and flowers as well as found objects - you are also welcome to bring your own things to draw if you are working on a particular theme. You will explore different ways of interpreting your inspiration using a variety of drawing techniques, mono-printing, and collage. (where you will work with line, colour, texture and shapes.) This is an experimental workshop that will leave you with a new fresh forms of inspiration and processes to develop future work in your own time if you wish.

 The day is suitable for both beginners as well as those with more experience looking to kick-start their creativity in a relaxed an informal environment. All materials will be provided although if you wish to bring special papers to add to your sketchbook or a particular sketchbook cover, please feel free to bring. (Ideally this will be in A4 Size.)
