Have you ever fancied trying your hand at jewellery making or silversmithing but weren’t sure about a full day class? Why not give this super cute half day charm workshops a try! This taster session is a fabulous introduction to mark-making and using traditional tools to create 3 individualised charms. You will enjoy the creative process of experimenting with hammer and punch work and be encouraged to use your creativity as you embellish your charms in a unique and personal fashion.
Resident Silversmith and Jeweller Zoe Watts will guide you through the process of making your very own bespoke silver charms in just one morning. Enjoy the creative process of experimenting with hammer and punch work and have fun your creativity with mark-making as you embellish your charm in a unique and personal fashion - these would make great gifts or a wonderful little keepsake if you have something special to celebrate or remember, you’ll have time to make two charms of different shapes (circle, square and rectangle) during the class and you will also learn how to alter the edge of the shapes using files.
The workshop will be fun, informal and taught at a steady pace. There will be examples of previous participant results so you can see what is achievable and Zoe is on hand to help you with ideas and inspiration.
All workshop materials are provided and at the end of the day you will go home with three uniquely crafted silver charms. This class does not require past experience in jewellery making or metal work.
Safety Notice: You will be working with tools and equipment that can be potentially hazardous if due care and attention is not taken; we therefore ask that participants are over the age of 16, wear suitable clothing including shoes or boots that cover and protect the feet. Long hair must be tied back and rings, scarfs and other dangling or loose clothing must be removed prior to the start of the class. You will be working in an upstairs studio for a small part of the workshop, so if you have any disabilities, then please get in touch. Unfortunately this workshop is not suitable for pregnant women.
